I'm seeing initialisation problems with the rtc driver It's compiled in to the kernel (not a module - in fact I have everything compiled in, no modules at all). This is on a circuit derived from the STK1000/1002 but I'm using a Philips 8563 device, not the internal rtc. Kernel is configured with I2c bit bang off, atmel_twi on. I'm using the patch supplied by lubos (Jan 18 ) which seems to fix the atmel_twi driver. After boot I see no /dev/rtc0 was created. Also, /sys/class/rtc exists but is an empty directory, but I'm not sure waht that means. The rtc driver fails in initialisation when it tries to open the device. I'm beginning to wonder if it's trying to access /dev/rtc0 before /dev/rtc0 is created. Drivers/rtc/hctosys.c: unable to open rtc device (rtc0) VFS: Mounted root (jffs2 filesystem). This is on a circuit derived from the STK1000/1002 but I'm using a Philips 8563 device, not the internal rtc. Has this driver known to work. If so has it been used as built in to the kernel or just as a module? (Or am I barking up the wrong tree?). The hctosys driver isn't in fact an RTC driver in it's own right, it's a small nugget of kernel code which, when enabled, will try and read an RTC and set the system time to this time on startup. Since its in-kernel it doesn't use the /dev interface and so (confusingly) rtc0!= /dev/rtc0 What seems to be going wrong is that the driver for _your rtc_ isn't working correctly so when it comes time for hctosys to try and read from it, the read fails. Do you have the driver for the 8563 built in or just hctosys? Can you see anything earlier in your bootlogs which would have come from the 8563 driver complaining that something exploded? If you've got a CRO, can you see activity on the RTC's sda/scl lines? If you see _nothing_ from that driver then there's a good chance it's not being bound to a device and therefore not being loaded. Have you told the board setup code that your RTC exists? I'm not 100% sure how this is supposed to be done for old-style I2C drivers, or even whether the 8563 driver is old or new style, but you'll probably have to fill out a struct i2c_board_info[] array just as is done for SPI. In that array you specify the slave address and driver alias of each device on the bus. Then pass that to i2c_register_board_info() along with the bus number and number of devices. See include/linux/i2c.h starting at line 206 (as of 2.6.23) for details. There seems to be no support for attached devices in the current avr32 code (at32ap700x.c) as unlike at32_add_device_spi(), the equivant at32_add_device_twi() takes no *_board_info[] array. So I think I have two options: 1. Fix at32_add_device_twi() so it takes and uses board info arrays (presumably using other architectures as a guide). English question tags exercises. Drop the PCF8563 and the RTC drivers out of the kernel and write a user space program to read the time from the PCF8563 using the atmel_twi, and use this to set the time at start up. The later sound easier, and would be a useful precursor to the former anyway. So, does anyone know of any sample/example code that might help me write the atmel_twi (=i2c I assume) control code in user space? I'm still having problems getting the kernel driver for the pcf8563 to work, so have been looking a simple user space test application, and using a 'scope to diagnose problems. This has shown up a bug in the atmel twi driver that has two symptoms: 1. On a multi-byte write on the I2C the 2nd byte is missing 2. The last byte that's sent is one byte past the end of the write buffer. This will affect all write of two or more consecutive data bytes on the twi/i2c bus (not just to pcf8563 devices). The attached patch fixes this.

I followed one person's advice on another post to reset permissions, however, that didn't work. But, I read this post and clicked on the dmg on my desktop and accidentally hit CMD O instead of CMD I (as I intended to look at the Info and see if the diskmounter software was selected as the opening software), and the DMG opened right up! Hopefully, Apple will address this issue on an update soon. Ultrasurf Mac Os XDec 30, 2011 Hi, Im having issues when attempting to open/mount all DMG files on Tiger. I get 'the disk image failed cause its not recognized'. Can anyone shed. Since i have updated my os to 10.7.3, i keep getting the warning the dmg files aren't recognized. That is for any and all of them. Direct from apple or anywhere. CMD O instead of double-clicking is not good functionality at work. BTW, afterward, I did look at the info and the diskmounter software was there. Dec 19, 2013 7:17 AM. I had the same problem because I had reassembled split DMG files that would not fit on a single DVD. I copied the dmg.001,dmg.002 files etc from a DVD aonto my hard drive and then reassembled them with SPLIT & CONCAT - a free program for Mac. I didn't realise that there was a second disc with extra dmg.009, dmg.010 etc files. This resulted in a fully formed file with the correct name, but it was missing half its original content. I should have known given that such file spiltting is necessary if a file is too big to fit on a single DVD in the first place. If you encounter the 'dmg not recognised' error, make sure all discs in the series are used to recompile the file you need. Jun 30, 2014 7:49 PM. The game's wonderful music and sound results, detailed scenery, cleverly animated characters, and equally clever writing go a long way towards fulfilling this intriguing premise. The sport's credit score, essentially the most objectionable factor about these occasional limits is how starkly they contrast with the otherwise great freedom you must lead your sims' lives. Yet although you may exercise a substantial amount of management over your sims' habits and life, The Sims actual gameplay is somewhat restricted in some respects - both by odd inconsistencies or by precise restrictions placed in your actions. At a glance, The Sims seems fairly good, if plain. The sport itself takes place entirely inside a small suburb just outdoors SimCity, and the streets, houses, and fixtures are all colorful and detailed - and all in a mode in line with the SimCity games. A tag question (or question tag in British English) is a structure used to confirm a statement via a short question at the end of the sentence. You speak English, don't you? He will visit Argentina next month, won't he? What is the sentence structure? The sentence structure is as follows: positive statement|,| negative tag question Harold found a new job|,| didn't he? You studied Italian|,| didn't you? Negative statement|,| positive question tag Most people in your company couldn't get a raise|,| could they? Jennifer won't be able graduate next spring|,| will she? The statement and the tag question have the same verb tense and the same modal verb (if used). With an action verb (find, study, etc), the tag question uses the auxiliary 'do.' In addition, the personal pronoun in the tag matches the subject of the sentence. Look at the following: You are happy, aren't you? He is rich, isn't he? Karen wasn't able to go to work, was she? They visited New York, didn't they? Bill will graduate next spring, won't he? Sandy must study for the test, mustn't she? Upper Intermediate English ExercisesThey could vote in the primary, couldn't they? How are tag questions used? Tag questions infrequently appear in writing. When used, the speaker believes himself to be correct, but wants to confirm the information. The tag functions as a question. For example: You got a haircut, didn't you? = It looks like you got a haircut. Did you get one? You hate your job, don't you? = I think you hate your job. Do you hate it? Tag questions can also emphasize a commonly held belief. In this case, the tag functions like a statement. For example: Our boss doesn't know what to do, does he? = Our boss is so clueless, everyone must agree. This movie is really boring, isn't it? = This movie is so boring, everyone must agree. Lastly, when answering a tag question, the answer should reflect the truth of the situation. It shouldn't necessarily answer the question. Look at the following example: Q: Bill Gates is the richest man in the world, isn't he? A: Yes, he is (the richest man in the world). Q: Bill Gates isn't the richest man in the world, is he? A: Yes, he is (the richest man in the world). In both cases, the reply is 'yes' in order to correctly answer to the situation. Is there additional information on tag questions? First, intonation plays an important role with tag questions. When confirming information, the speaker uses the tag as a question, and so his voice rises as with a usual yes/no question. However, when adding emphasis, the tag isn't a question because the speaker is already sure of the information. It uses the same intonation as a simple statement with falling intonation. In addition, British English and American English require a different tag with has. |
